Network Properties for Robust Multilayer Infrastructure Systems: A Percolation Theory Review

چکیده

Infrastructure systems, such as power, transportation, telecommunication, and water are composed of multiple components which interconnected interdependent to produce distribute essential goods services. So, the robustness infrastructure systems resist disturbances is crucial for durable performance modern societies. Multilayer networks have been used model multiplicity interrelation percolation theory most common approach quantify networks. This survey systematically reviews literature published between 2010 2021, on applying assess modeled multilayer We discussed all network properties applied build models. Among properties, interdependency strength communities were property whilst very few studies considered realistic attributes directed links feedback conditions. The review highlights that produced approximately similar outcomes, in terms detecting improvement or deterioration networks, with exceptions. Most focused highly simpliffied synthetic models rather than built by real datasets. Thus, this suggests analyzing a single whether they boost weaken impact each other. In addition, effect size different should be quantiffied. It can support design planning robust arranging prioritizing effective properties.

Design Principles for a Robust Network Infrastructure

The Internet is now central to a huge amount of our economy, and yet we are unable to depend on its continued and smooth operation. For some kinds of failures, the Internet has proven to be extremely robust. It has survived hurricanes, earthquakes, tunnel fires, and terrorist attacks with only temporary and partial loss of end-to-end connectivity. At the same time, other, seemingly trivial fail...

Strategies to Overcome Network Congestion in Infrastructure Systems

Networked Infrastructure systems deliver services and/or products from point to point along the network. Demand for the services provided by such systems is typically cyclic, creating inefficiencies in capacity utilization. Congestion pricing provides incentives to shift demand from peak time periods to lower demand periods. This effectively increases the capacity of the system without the need...

robust stabilization for fuzzy network control systems with data drift

in this study, a robust controller is designed for fuzzy network control systems (ncss) using the static output feedback. delay and data packet dropout affect on the stability of network control systems, and therefore, the asymptotic stability condition is established considering delay and data packet dropout. delay is time-varying while the lower and upper bounds for delay is defined, and the ...

Dynamic percolation theory for particle diffusion in a polymer network

Tracer-diffusion of small molecules through dense systems of chain polymers is studied within an athermal lattice model, where hard-core interactions are taken into account by means of the site exclusion principle. An approximate mapping of this problem onto dynamic percolation theory is proposed. This method is shown to yield quantitative results for the tracer correlation factor of the molecu...

A Systems Approach to Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Design for Utility Management Automation Systems

Almost all of electric utility companies are planning to improve their management automation system, in order to meet the changing requirements of new liberalized energy market and to benefit from the innovations in information and communication technology (ICT or IT). Architectural design of the utility management automation (UMA) systems for their IT-enabling requires proper selection of ...
